Biography

Eric Gerber is a singer/songwriter from Wimberley, Texas.  He began his journey as a singer/songwriter in the vibrant Boston scene of the late 1990’s, along with such luminaries as Kevin So,  Mary Gauthier, and Lori McKenna, who sings a duet with Eric on the title track of his first album.   Having first attended the Kerrville Folk Festival in 1998, he was chosen as a NewFolk Finalist in 2000.  Though not one of the 6 winners of the class of 2000, he met his future wife at the Festival that year and has lived in Texas ever since.  Settling down to raise a family in the Texas Hill Country, he became a Middle School AVID teacher in San Antonio, where he gets to work with promising young students.  The AVID class helps them become outstanding students while figuring out their strengths and dreams and how to make those dreams in to a successful college path and/or future career.  Remaining musically active, he formed the band Eric Gerber Three in 2012, releasing their first album in 2017 to much critical acclaim.  They are honored to have been invited to play the Kenneth Threadgill Theater at the 2018 Kerrville Folk Festival.
